Sabe la gente de la calabaza que sus semillas, tierras y vidas, no están exentas de peligro, por eso la comunidad ritualiza el sacrificio del jaguar, cuyo cuerpo es enterrado bajo el asiento donde el elegido Comisario recibe el espíritu y las cualidades del sacrificado. Él tomará el poder de su visión y mirada, el sigilo de sus pasos en la selva y la fuerza de sus garras en la lucha; él abandonará toda piel de miedo porque la hora del espíritu del jaguar, en defensa de la semilla-niña-comunidad, ha llegado.
Afirmamos con entusiasmo que estamos fren-te a un libro que nos remite a palabra cantada, a voz antigua que cuenta, porque no puede dejar de relatar desde la memoria su cuestionamiento al pre-sente. Nos atrevemos a decir sin miedo que, Túngaa Indìí/ Comisario Jaguar de Hubert Matiúwàa, será un libro que contará en la memoria indígena de México y del Abya Yala, como parte de la historia y de la creación poética en el contexto de lucha de nuestros pueblos.
The people of the squash know that their seeds, lands and lives are not exempt from danger, this is why the community ritualizes the sacrifice of the jaguar, whose body is buried beneath the chair where the chosen Commissioner will receive the spirit and the qualities of the sacrificed. He will take on the power of its vision and its gaze, the stealth of its footsteps in the wilderness, and the strength of its claws in the fight; he will shed his skin of fear, because the time of the jaguar spirit, the time to defend the seed-girl-community, has arrived.
With excitement we affirm that we are in the pres-ence of a book that carries us back to the word of song, to that ancient voice, as it cannot cease to narrate from memory its questioning of the present. So we dare to say, without a shadow of doubt, that Túngaa Indìí /Jaguar Commissioner by Hubert Matiúwàa will be a book that will stand strong in Indigenous memory in Mexico, and in our Abya Yala, as a part of the history and of poetic creation situated within the struggles of our peoples.
