Miriam's daughters : Jewish Latin American women poets

Marjorie Agosín is a poet, writer, untiring human rights activist, and a descendant of European Jews who escaped the Holocaust and settled in Chile until forced into exile by Pinochet's dictatorship. Her awards include the Letras de Oro Prize, Latina Literature Prize, Jeanneta Rankin award for Archievement in Human rights, United Nations Leadership Award for Archievemnt in Human Rights and the Gabriela Mistral medal of Honor for Lifetime Achievement by the Chilean Goverment.
